Job Description:
• Works closely with R&D at the BOM development stage within the new product introduction cycle, to lead supplier negations for the strategic component requirements and provide support to resolve component availability issues. This may include the need to “risk buy” long lead parts in order to ensure supply availability against project timelines.
• Responsible to ensure strategic component pricing is known and reflected by contract manufacturer managers during the pricing negotiations.
• Primary commercial interface for strategic component suppliers. Responsible to consolidate Aastra volumes at a regional and/or global level for a defined portfolio of strategic components, in order to negotiate best pricing.
• Prime interface to R&D for Strategic Component Supplier Selection. This includes responsibility to decide the sourcing strategy in close relation with contract manufacturer manager.
• Provide support to planning coordinators for the Last Time Buy process as it relates to pricing and terms negotiations with suppliers.
• Proactively seek second sources for sole source/high risk components to ensure commercial leverage and maximum flexibility with respect to supply availability and proactively monitor the component market and get early involvement in EOL notifications.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum 4 years experience in a component negotiation role;
• Business degree a must;
• Strong negotiation skills;
• Self starter, capable of working effectively in an individual contributor role;
• Experience in working as part of cross functional teams across various geographical locations;
• Experience in dealing with component manufacturers (global scope);
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Experience in the electronics industry is required
