Job Description:
Electronic instruments are used in all areas of the Army, including health care, weather forecasting, flight control and combat. The Computer/Detection Systems Repairer is an important member of the Army electronic maintenance team. Electronic instrument repairers fix and maintain electronics, such as measuring equipment, navigational controls, photographic equipment and biomedical instruments.
The Computer/Detection Systems Repairer is primarily responsible for performing or supervising maintenance and repair on special electronic devices such as night vision equipment, electronic distance and azimuth-orienting devices, battlefield illumination devices, and nuclear, biological and chemical warning and measuring devices.
Some of your duties as a Computer/Detection Systems Repairer may include:
Testing instruments, navigational controls and simulators
Reading technical diagrams and manuals in order to locate and repair instrument parts
Replacing equipment parts such as resistors, switches and circuit boards
Performing quality control measures
Inspecting equipment for faults and completeness
Testing equipment to determine operational condition
Troubleshooting to determine equipment faults
Testing repaired items to ensure compliance
Preparing maintenance forms and records
Performing preventive maintenance checks on equipment
Job Requirements:
Must be between the ages of 17-42
Must be a US Citizen or Perminent Resident (must have I-551 card)
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to pass a credit check
