Job Description: Title: Senior Data Network Engineer Location: Greensville, SC Compensation: $100,000 Plus Base, + Bonus, + Benefits, Paid Time Off Position: The Senior Engineer will be ultimately responsible for assisting planning, design, and implementation of large multi- regional Tier-2/1 Internet Service Provider and associated multi-region IP network as well as large-scale ATM network delivering both voice and data. This includes network analysis, engineering and network hardware configuration. The Senior Network Engineer must be prepared to meet the current/future needs of the Data Engineering Department and our customers. In order to do this, the Senior Network Engineer needs to maintain a keen grasp of current and future ISP, Routing, Switching, ATM, IP, VoIP and emerging technologies that may fit our need for cost effective solutions to better serve our customers. Senior Engineers should be capable of directing both Senior and Data Engineers in implementing these solutions. This position will have emphasis on IP, VoIP, Routing and Switching and ATM Technologies. • Assist Network Architects and Data Engineering Manager with Network Planning and design • Network implementation and project management • Manage core backbone implementation projects • Assist with formulation of plans/process to integrate acquired companies. • Coordinate core network equipment and architecture changes • Highest-level support of network troubleshooting and performance issues • Document engineering standards • Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools and technologies. Evaluates emerging network technologies and make recommendations on their viability • Perform emergency network maintenance activities • Perform off-hour upgrades to network hardware, software and configurations • Working in a multi-regional company with rapid growth is very challenging. Network Engineer’s in Data Engineering must possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to swiftly changing priorities. Qualifications: Minimum of four years progressive experience in a Network Engineering role with medium or large sized Internet Service Provider • Minimum of four years experience with LEC and IXC telephone technology • IP routing (OSPF, BGP, EBPG, IBGP), Ethernet, VLANs, VoIP, MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, Cisco IOS • Troubleshooting and problem resolution (both hardware and software) • Must have the ability to plan, implement and support complex IP Networks. Problem solving, leadership and organizational skills. • ISP multi homing and peering • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred • Unix (Linux, Solaris) operating systems administration, Shell Script/CGI Programming If interested and qualified for the position please apply online and fill out the questions asked in as much detail as possible.
