Job Description:
Our Syracuse, NY based customer has a direct hire opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical).
The candidate selected for this assignment will lead the design, development and implementation of hardware and embedded software for mechatronic system control, specifically digital servomotor controllers. To this end, oversee department engineers, designers and technicians. Requires experience with hardware and software development for embedded control systems. Demonstrated project management skills and team leadership ability are essential.
Responsibilities
• Develop algorithms and model architecture for mechatronic system design.
• Provide project leadership, including resource planning, budgeting and communication to management, suppliers and customers.
• Provide technical leadership and direct the work of engineers, designers and technicians.
• Review customer specifications and generate, review and approve internal specs.
• Develop and provide analysis tools for mechatronic system design, including simulation and test.
• Participate and contribute in the company's product stage gate process.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Electrical Engineering; Master’s Degree, Electrical Engineering Major preferred
• Minimum of 8-10 years experience in product design and development including project management experience
• Hardware and software development experience, particularly with digital signal processors and specific product experience in electromechanical actuators preferred
• Strong background in control theory (PID control)
• Motor design and/or control experience is desired, familiarity at a minimum
• Motion control experience preferred
