Job Description:
The Lodge at Woodloch, one of the leading destination spa resorts in the U.S., is seeking a Chef de Cuisine. This luxury, Five-Star level boutique resort boasts a 100 seat fine dining spa cuisine restaurant. The Lodge’s sophisticated spa cuisine focuses on elegant presentation and depth of flavor, fresh, regional, organic ingredients, appropriate portion size, and enlightened cooking techniques--the first true blending of elegant fine dining with healthy ingredients and techniques.
The Lodge’s cuisine has already been featured on The Food Network and in Bon Appetit. With a cuisine philosophy that is unique in the U.S., this position offers the opportunity for considerable media visibility.
The successful candidate must be creative, passionate about healthy gourmet cuisine, and enjoy performing guest cooking demonstrations and interacting with resort guests. He/she must also have a collaborative, inspirational style, be able to supervise and coordinate all activities of the kitchen, to manage all kitchen staff, to maintain food, payroll, and fixed costs to meet budgets, to ensure food quality and presentation, plan and create menus, daily features, and recipes, to schedule staff, and product ordering, and maintain organization and cleanliness of a professional kitchen.
Qualifications:
• Culinary degree
• Two years minimum experience as a Chef de Cuisine or an equivalent supervisory level in a sophisticated, fine dining environment.
• Strong oral and written communication and reasoning abilities with basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Must be able to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
