Job Description:
eAgency is seeking an experienced, hands-on Software Architect to join our development team. We are looking for a professional who has a passion for coding and an excitement about being on the leading edge of technology. As Senior J2EE Software Architect you will work as an integral part of our development team to design and develop software applications using the latest and greatest technology. You will work alongside and oversee a small group of Junior Developers. We are looking for someone with a passion to be on the cutting edge and a passion for the latest technology.

Necessary skills include Java/J2EE, high volume web applications, re-factoring existing systems, architectural best practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with Stakeholders and business analysts to guide business and functional requirements based on technical expertise

• Work with junior developers to create technical architectures and detailed designs that meet functional and non-functional requirements such as:
- scalability
- fault tolerance
- monitoring
- deployability
- maintainability

• Provide expert knowledge of technical and middleware architecture

• Mentor junior developers on appropriate design and coding principles

• Review designs and code

• Write high-quality code

• Re-factor code to add functionality and/or improve design

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS degree in Computer Science, or related discipline. Graduate Degree a plus

• 8+ years demonstrated software development experience, primarily in Java and related technologies

• Expertise in object oriented design

• Expertise in aspect oriented design

• Expertise in Java/J2EE and related technologies

• Expertise in building scalable web applications

• Experience with RDBMS and SQL, in particular MySQL 5.x. Experience with sharded DB architectures a plus

• Experience with ORM frameworks, especially Hibernate

• Experience designing and building applications with open source frameworks and tools such as:
- Spring
- Hibernate
- Lucene

• Experience with XML, JSON and related technologies such as XSD, XSLT, etc.

• Any mobile development (Smart Phone / Cell Phone) experience a plus
