Job Description:
This position is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, services and commodity products. Evaluating bids, selecting and recommending suppliers. Negotiates price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all awards through completion of order. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Evaluates suppliers and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery. This position is responsible for the communication of forecasts requirements and may negotiate pricing, discounts and contracts for their selected suppliers.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
Five or more years purchasing experience preferably in electronics industry.
CPM certification desired
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Extremely organized and detailed oriented with excellent follow-up
MRP and Supply Chain knowledge
Experience with setting up VMI programs required
Proficient in PC applications to include: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Oracle experience preferred
This position may require the incumbent to travel in order to carry out duties of the role.
