Job Description:
DUTIES: You will be responsible for: (1) Data center architecture and design; (2) Planning, architecture, design, implementation, and support of a global, world class, state of the art data center; (3) Development of policies, initiatives, and standards that integrate facilities, networks, servers, database, storage, security, applications software and operational management methodologies; (4) Collaborating and consulting with diverse business and technical groups and audiences to understand business and software requirements; (5) Translating business requirements into integrated, reliable, and secure data center infrastructure architecture strategies to support continuously available e-commerce based solutions; (6) Providing estimates, analysis and recommendations to secure approval of budget and resources to implement specifications; (7) Ensuring “best cost” via partnering with vendors and company purchasing agents to drive optimum procurement; (8) Acting as a liaison between enterprise and software architecture staff and business development teams; (9) Design/architecture of network security plans, policies, standards, etc.; (10) Acting as a technical advisor to executive management in long range organizational planning; (11) Design, architecture, and authoring of Service Level Agreement (SLA) documentation, policy, and metric identification.
Job Requirements:
At least 7 years of IT experience in a complex, large ecommerce environment with at least 4 years of CURRENT and STRONG data center architecture experience.
MUST be coming from a high transaction environment averaging at least 1 million transactions per day.
Proven experience in designing and architecting state of the art, complex, holistic, high availability, high transactional data centers in an e-commerce environment.
STRONG/CURRENT hands on network (WAN/LAN) routing and switching in a high availability data center e-commerce environment with a primary emphasis on CISCO products.
MUST have strong/current experience with Unix and Intel server platforms and related environment architectural design for operational effectiveness.
MUST have extensive knowledge of load balancing products and techniques.
MUST have extensive knowledge of firewall, IPS and IDS and other means of securing and controlling unauthorized access to data.
MUST have extensive knowledge of encryption technology such as SSL and IPSEC VPN.
MUST have architectural level experience of high availability storage concepts and technologies (SAN, NAS).
MUST have architectural level experience with backup and recovery technologies.
MUST have architectural level experience of high availability database technologies.
MUST have STRONG/CURRENT knowledge of data center facility attributes and “Tier” requirements of power, cooling, space, environment and management of same.
MUST have STRONG/CURRENT experience defining, documenting, and communicating overall architecture to all business partners, vendors, suppliers, value added resellers and strategic outsourcers.
Good financial and budget management skills are required.
MUST have STRONG/CURRENT experience with network resources, services, and applications for an e-commerce environment (DNS, LDAP, NTP, HTTP, FTP, SSL etc.)
Pluses: CCNP. CCDP. ITSM. ITIL.
