Job Description:
Your responsibilities would include:
* Establish a national purchasing budget and establish annual budget standards.
* Manage a staff of three people responsible for carrying out objectives. Including daily task assignments and annual performance and salary review.
* Work closely with Marketing Departments in Mississauga and Quebec in developing new products. Finding new or better ways to market and manufacture our extensive product line. Act as a packaging resource.
* Develop strategies to secure long term supply of Dry Goods within specifications at a competitive price.
* Analyze, prepare and make recommendations to Senior Management on cost efficient ways to purchase materials. Generate cost savings through negotiation and improved efficiencies.
* Work with production, quality and technical departments to troubleshoot problems as they arise and find satisfactory solutions. Represent National Purchasing in a management role for ISO 9000.
* Participate on or lead various dry good GSS teams in conjunction with other CBI personnel globally.
* Help develop RFP criteria and assist in negotiating medium and longer term purchasing agreements and contracts.
* Prepare monthly reports. Variances from PPV with explanations. Inventory level / budget. SNC & claims.
Job Requirements:
* 15 years experience in Purchasing with a minimum of 5 years in food liquid packaging industry.
* 5 years experience at a multinational corporate level.
* Knowledge of customer goods manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of cost accounting as it relates to manufacturing is a definite asset.
* Able to work under pressure in a multitasking environment and meet deadlines.
* Familiar with manufacture principle (MRP, Inv.)
* PMAC certificate (CPP)
* Familiar with ISO environment (9000)
* Strong analytical and decision making skills.
* Strong negotiation skills.
