Job Description:
Internationally recognized artist/sculptor seeks responsible architect to provide design support, & project management for local and national public art projects incorporating engineering, infrastructure, architecture, urban design and landscape. All projects in the studio offer interesting and challenging work. Applicant must be able to apply architectural problem-solving skills to complex visual and sculptural design problems, as well as have a diverse understanding of basic engineering, structural concepts and materials. Must have experience with project management and construction detailing in an architectural office. Must be adept with and prepared for daily use of Rhino, Maya and Auto CAD. (Applicants without experience in a professional architectural office or similar studio need not apply. Masters in Architecture is desirable.) Position responsibilities include:3D computer modeling and renderings used during the design process and for presentationsMust be fluent in graphic and 3D modeling and rendering programs; Auto CAD, Maya, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and possess excellent three dimensional modeling skills.Project ManagementProduce fabrication and construction documents of completed designsSupervise specific and specialized construction methods with fabricators using geometric data from computer and physical models, stereo lithography, and water-jet cuttingParticipate in concept design, design development and digital design drawing processMust know how to put together a good construction detail in Auto CAD, and communicate with fabricators, architects and contractors Part time to full time.
