Job Description:
A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer in license are required. The successful candidate will plan, schedule, conduct, and supervise/lead technical teams on several medium to large transportation projects. Position involves continuous client contact from the proposal stage to project completion; provides overall project direction to the project teams while providing information about the status of the project to others; plans and conducts work requiring high level of judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and modification of unconventional and complex techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered, while interpreting and applying the appropriate client codes and standards; accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of design activities; initiates or escalates the correction of conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget; and, coordinates resources for projects. The ideal candidate shall have progressive experience in hands-on design/production and management of pre-design (Corridor studies and Project Assessment) plans and reports, and final design for highway and local roadways. Previous experience managing staff is required in addition to effective oral and written communication skills; proactive in solving issues and a self-motivator. Effective project management skills are a must. Working knowledge of the following software is required: Inroads and Microstation.
