RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and Responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. Establishes risk-based and fact-based methodologies to managing infrastructure assets. Develops a comprehensive inventory of assets, condition assessment of those assets, improving coordination and communication within the utility's operations, and improving the decision making process for asset management based on quantifiable risks. Will be involved in all new and replacement utility construction projects, developing life-cycle costing and long-term asset management. Monitors the identification of assets, location of assets, and condition of assets. Responsible for condition assessment reporting and benchmarking. Oversees the overall asset management program including items related to acquisition, maintenance, upgrade, operation, and replacement of assets. Coordinates asset management program requirements with utility engineering, operations, and finance. Coordinates all data on physical assets to include inspection history, repairs, and failures. Develops and implements computerized maintenance work order system to collect data from all related systems with consistency and accuracy. Develops and documents process and procedures for asset management. Works with internal and external stakeholders to explain, interpret, and create City of Firm asset management requirements and specifications. Provides professional and technical assistance and project updates. Assures that completed projects meet established program goals and standards defined within asset management program. Keeps current on latest trends in utilities industry asset management principles, practices, procedures and technology; makes recommendation for implementation; and assists in developing operational priorities, goals, and objectives related to asset management.
