This position exercise supervisory responsibility for two positions, an Engineering Technician III/IV and an Engineering Technician I/II. Entail professional engineering and management work requiring use of considerable independent judgment and initiative toward engineering projects concerned with planning, design, location, construction and maintenance of Municipal structures associated with solid waste management. Responsible for environmental management and regulatory compliance. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Special Qualifications: Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible engineering experience. Must possess a valid driver\'s license.Substitute: Master\'s degree in Engineering may substitute for the engineering experience on a year for year basis.Minimum Qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check. A Background Check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment.Must be certified as Professional Engineer in the State of Alaska within six months of hire.
