Job Description:
DUTIES:Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members; provides feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice, counsel, and/or instruction to staff members. Recommends or approves appointments, selections, or reassignments to positions appropriate to the selection authority delegated. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity policies and program activities.Provides advice and guidance when technical interpretation, opinion, or decisions are solicited. Consultations involve assessment of engineering design, modification, evaluations, specifications, construction or production, maintenance, improvements, repair, logistics support, operational capabilities and limitations, systems safety, or personnel training.Performs civil engineering project planning duties, such as scheduling and layout of operations, planning for budget requirements, and inspection and surveillance of materials, methods, and equipment used in tests and/or construction. Organizes, schedules, coordinates, and facilitates the timing, sequence, quality, quantity, and issues related to all such projects and work requests.Prepares designs, technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.Develops and maintains an understanding of practices and procedures in the specialty area. Reviews and maintains requirements and specifications for assigned projects.
