Job Description:
Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Manages the Section\'s daily activities, including scheduling staff and assignments; setting work priorities; overseeing work; coordinating section\'s work with other Public Works departments, County departments/agencies, external governmental agencies, etc.; Assists in developing, implementing and achieving goals and objectives, policies, standards, and priorities; researches and identifies funding sources for projects or programs; Prepares, coordinates, and monitors budgets for assigned area and may develop and write proposals for grant applications; administers grants; and prepares documentation for reimbursement of federal and state funds; Represents the District/Division at meetings and conferences with other governmental agencies, the public, community leaders, stakeholder groups, contractors/consultants, and non-governmental organizations; Supervises, hires, trains, counsels and evaluates assigned staff; recommends or imposes management or disciplinary action; Supervises, coordinates, and/or reviews watershed drainage plans or work prepared by professional engineering consultants for public and private improvements related to flood plain management and planning for the issuance of permits to comply with District Standards, ordinances, and good engineering practice; checks plans; Manages preparation of updates to the District\'s IWPP Program, major watershed planning efforts, and the pre-design phase of the Capital Improvement Project Delivery System; Supervises and coordinates the processes related to encroachment and watercourse permits and related permit and construction inspection activities.
