This is a diverse and dynamic mix of funds and programs that requires you, as the manager, to both effectively respond to the events of the day as well as continue to shape the Firm to meet changing needs and circumstances. In this position, you will represent the County on a wide range of engineering and operational issues, interacting with staff, contractors, vendors, citizens and representatives of state and other agencies. You may also be expected to make presentations, deliver reports or conduct information sessions with the County Manager\'s Office, the County Board, County Commissions and citizens regarding various water, sewer and street proposals and/or services. In addition to providing technical expertise and oversight of the bureau\'s activities, you must also provide strong leadership that ensures the development and implementation of sound policies, procedures, systems and standards throughout the bureau. You will also make recommendations pertaining to the annual operating budget and the Capital Improvement Projects for Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer and Paving. To be effective in the role, you must have a genuine commitment to both excellence in customer service and employee safety, a thorough understanding of environmental stewardship, strong technical and communication skills, and a record of sound financial management.
