Job Description:

Responsibilities may include: Provide guidance and planning for all architectural studio projects. Coordinate work and project requirements with Project Managers and other departments. Coordinate fee proposal preparation. Actively participate with creativity as a member of project teams. Ensure that team members strive for efficiency in technical application, schedule, budget and staff utilization throughout the production process. Assist the other departments in the development and monitoring of the firm's architectural standards, policy and procedures. Quality assurance of deliverables in terms of content, compliance and technical expertise. Be accountable for the overall management and staffing of the studio group. Plan and effectively utilize time to advance the quality and efficiency of the group. Maintain close contact with the studio staff in order to assure high morale, design quality and production efficiency. Determines staffing needs and makes recommendations to the Vice President of Design regarding hiring and terminations. Maintain good relationships with clients and consultants. Participate in the continuing evolution of the firm's marketing plan. Maintain close contact with other departments in order to assure high client satisfaction. Assist Business Development, Marketing, and Project Managers in responding to new business opportunities, including preparing proposals and participating in presentations. Develop new group competencies to support target markets. Understand and manage the architectural studio in a financially responsible manner and strive to achieve the firm's financial goals. Assist the Vice President in managing department budgets. Be aware of and effectively apply technology to achieve consistent and efficient production of high quality projects. Identify candidates and seek out appropriate training to constantly improve that Department's technical competence and efficiency in both CAD and Micro-Station platforms. Review, approve and manage time sheets, paid time-off requests, leave of absences, continuing education programs, etc. for the department. Develop employee\'s competencies by taking an active role in employee career development. Document training needs and plan for development.
