Job Description:
Location: East Chicago/Riverdale area.
The overall objective of this position is to provide maintenance support for the entire facility. This would include, but not be limited to: preventive and maintenance of vehicles, loading ramps, machinery, tools; maintain, modify, or repair stationary scanner [RF] equipment as necessary; provide improvements to yard pavement including repainting and striping; other non-production items as needed to support the Operations and Terminal Managers.
Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoot transmissions and engines for Company vehicles and identify the repairs that are needed
2. Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify the repairs that are needed.
3. Inform the Quality Operations Supervisor of new chemicals that are being used in the facility.
4. Major brake repair work
5. Repair Hydraulic issues with the buck ramps.
6. Maintain the street sweeper
7. Maintain the entrance spikes at the guard shack
8. Change tires on the buck ramps
9. Provide supplies for level one work
10. Perform preventative maintenance on the buck ramps.
11. Train Level One and Level two employees
12. Handle other tasks as required
Starting Pay Rate: $16.00 hourly
40-hour work week.
