Job Description:
DIRECTOR UI ENGINEERING,
Our Client is a leading software solutions provider. They are currently search for a Director of Engineering to lead a team of UI professionals who will work closely with Product Management and Design Partners as well as other parts of the organization.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage a cross functional team including Architects, Developers and Quality Assurance in the creation of Desktop UI.
• On-time execution and quality of product development and delivery.
• Pro-actively collaborate with cross-functional partners to define and execute against strategic goals.
• Review team members’ detailed design of components/modules/code.
• Contribute to the coding deliverables (Player/Coach).
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and testing in high-performing web applications in a JEE environment.
• Accomplished internet technologist, skilled in architecture, development and implementation practices.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, software development processes, such as Agile/SCRUM.
• Strong presentation and leadership skills.
• Proven results-oriented person with a delivery focus with experience with developing UI frameworks from inception to delivery.
• Have in-depth and hands-on knowledge of Web 2.0 strategies. Including, but not limited to:
o Javascript, experience using AJAX
o Ideally have experience building UI components in JavaScript
o Knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, web services
o Expertise in cross browser development (IE, Firefox, Safari) and Web usability and interface design
o Knowledge of Dojo is a plus
o SOA experience, although not required, is preferred
