This is a very hands-on Assistant Controller position. This position will report to the Controller who wants to be able to get more involved in the operations. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for analyzing the financial statements and reviewing the accuracy of the entries. Really looking for the Assistant Controller to be able to see where the variances are and look deeper into the numbers and verify reasonableness of the financials. This person will work closely with the controller and and be heavily involved with the overall financial aspects of the company. This is a position that has high visibility and will be rewarded for their achievements. The Assistant Controller will oversee an accounting staff of about 5- 6. We are looking for someone who can delegate work to the staff and review what they are doing. We are looking for someone who can take the lead on the monthly and quarterly close and be able to meet strict deadlines. Monthly close is 2-3 days and must be compliant with Firm as well as This person will be doing the regulatory and management reporting as well as working with external auditors. This position requires someone with Banking experience and ideally has a CPA with public accounting and private industry experience. To be successful in this role, you must have strong supervisory experience and at least 3 + years total experience in accounting. This is a friendly environment with strong tenure within the staff.
