Job Description:
Responsibilities: - Developing analytical solutions in order to help our marketing managers gain insight into key aspects of our web site. - Develop solutions to help our marketing team understand the demographics of subscribers, performance of different channels of acquisition, and effectiveness of marketing campaigns. - Develop Microstrategy dashboards and reports to visualize key insights, trends and monitor the performance of key metrics. - Design, model, and develop data sets to support analysis. - Help crack the tough nuts develop hypothesis and help design ways to answer the key questions. - Be in the middle of designing Microstrategy solutions to aid in the analysis of customers, DVD viewing, electronic viewing, breakage, queue demand, feature consumption, vendor performance and site performance, using a wide range of data sources. - Mining data and providing strategic insights to the organization. - Recognizing and managing technical dependencies and/or limitations that impact analytic work. - Delivering clear written and oral communication with analyst teams and internal customer teams. - Actively question and challenge customers to understand their requirements and reach the best solutions, near term and long term. - Communication of projects and schedules. - Successfully implementing process improvements impacting own work and work of others. - Negotiate customer priorities and workload with many internal customers and team members. - Interact with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within committed time frames. - Be a leader in the Microstrategy community at company. Requirements: - A BS degree or equivalent required. - 5 years of experience working as a Microstrategy developer and data analyst in a data-driven environment. Having experience developing solutions in a fast-paced, nimble, ecommerce organization is a plus. - Experience with large data sets and complex queries in an enterprise data warehouse. - Deep Microstrategy development experience. - Track record of developing creative ways to visualize and distill large volumes of data into actionable formats desired. - Jumping into new situations and learning on the fly desired. - Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical associates desired. - Solid communication skills at all levels within an organization desired. - Excellent project management skills; ability to multi-task, you need to be able to manage yourself and your commitments desired. - Energy, passion, enthusiasm, and detail orientation to manage and/or produce high-quality, Microstrategy solutions and data analysis deliverables desired. - Responsive, team-oriented personal style for effectiveness with internal clients and colleagues desired. - Excellent SQL skills required. - Microstrategy certification a plus.
