Job Description:
Responsibilities: All phases of business development in accordance with the higher organization's business development, capture management, and proposal management processes, including marketing potential customers, identifying and qualifying opportunities, and executing the capture process through submittal of a bid. Individual may lead capture planning and execution for major opportunities valued at $10 million or more in accordance with business growth initiatives and objectives. The business development manager will support organic growth strategies in core and evolving capabilities for pursuits typically within the immediate to year procurement window. These core capabilities consist primarily of the following OSD Staff, Agencies and Activities o Joint Staff o Services Staffs This individual will be an integral part of the Operation's business development team consisting of subordinate division marketing, business development, and project personnel, as required. Business activities will consist of direct support or coordination of marketing, communications, competitive analysis, teaming, strategic pricing, and proposal development. For example, the successful candidate may identify and participate, as required, in events such as trade shows and seminars that support capture objectives; participate in assigned capture and proposal development activities, as assigned and identify and qualify prospective teaming partners. Networking responsibilities may include identifying marketing and teaming opportunities with other company business units and groups to create a winning bid, as well as external industry associates at senior levels. Report to: The Deputy Operations Manager. Requirements: A Master's degree is required, preferably in a technical or business field. 4 years of additional direct, successful capture management experience within the core capabilities and designated customer base may be substituted for a Master's degree. years of Military/Civil Government Experience at the GM14 level or higher is highly desired. 5 years of experience in managing and leading business development activities in private industry serving the Federal Government marketplace preferred. Analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to gain internal support and to operate independently without supervision. Ability to establish working relationships with customers, other companies, technical staff, managers and peers. Possess a security clearance at least at the secret level. Willingness to travel.
