Responsibilities: Conceptualizes, develops and implements long-range and strategic plans for dynamic and ever-expanding acquisition, preservation, accessibility and presentation of museum collections. Integrates internal and external program and policy issues into long-range plans, assuring that key Museum goals and priorities are considered when making program decisions. Collaborates with and provides direct input to the Director, the Council, and other managers of the Museum on the impact and need for such plans. Establishes and maintains working relationships with others concerned with the collection, preservation, accessibility and presentation of information on the Holocaust within the United States and abroad. Sets efficiency and productivity standards by which to evaluate program effectiveness. Monitors work status through formal and informal means, and manages a system of internal controls to ensure that resources are safeguarded, obligations and costs incurred, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and revenues and expenditures pertaining to operations are promptly recorded and accounted for in accordance with applicable USHMM procedures. Conducts continual analysis and evaluation of the overall effectiveness and efficiency of collections programs and identification of areas for improvement.
