Job Description:
Responsible for high-level oversight and management of Short Term Disability Claims Team. Ensuring claims are handled efficiently, maintaining good policyholder/client relationships and providing technical expertise on disability claims. Manages staff of 20 -40 direct and indirect subordinates. Responsible for coaching, staffing, development and performance management of direct and indirect subordinates. Through the proper management of resources, workflow and segmentation of workload, delivering consistent financial results which meet divisional expectations. Responsible for the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives for disability claim management, enhancements for the disability product, as well as improved procedures for STD and LTD claim management.Experience managing Short Term Disability claims, experience with Long Term Disability desired. Litigation experience (depositions, mediations). Supervisory/Management experience, including proven staff development skills.
