Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Create original concepts and designs for the production that appear in the show (including turnarounds/rotations)
• Colors all designs
• Complete work assigned within the scheduled timeframe
• Keep designs manageable and in line with the modeling days allotted for it
• Read script and discuss concepts with Senior Conceptual Designer or Art Director
• Accept feedback on designs and executes on changes quickly
• Participates in production-related meetings offering thoughts and ideas
• Stay up to date with shows by watching animatics
• Maintains the show style with designs and keeps designs working within the story specifications
• Communicate effective and production-friendly solutions when the requests of the client or other department heads are not possible within production timelines
• Keeps Design Coordinator in the loop on all activities and any issues that may arise


Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years in graphic design
• BA/BFA Degree in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts field an asset, but not required
• Must have strong 2D design experience
• Experience in multimedia content, film and television work
• 3D design and modeling experience a definite asset
• Must possess excellent communications, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills
• Self management and reviewing one’s own schedule is required, as is notifying production of any tasks that may be missing of improperly specified
• Have experience interfacing with other designers, modelers, animators and directors
• Excellent communication skills (able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas)
• Strong problem solving skills
• Thrive in a high pressure, deadline oriented environment
• Enjoy working in team atmosphere and has a proactive approach to work

Note: Successful applicant must be a Canadian citizen or possess landed immigrant status and be willing to work at Nerd Corps Studio in Vancouver, Canada.
