Job Description:
Responsibilities: Direct supervision over Financial Aid Counselors and/or Financial Aid Assistants at various stages of development. This would involve daily interaction with direct reports. Ensuring the team delivers accurate financial aid information resulting in a quality customer service experience for learners. Meeting regularly with employees about performance and development and to provide on-going feedback and training. Lead in the creation and participate in the delivery of annual performance reviews. Demonstrating a solid understanding of financial aid processes including systems such as Powerfaids, Scholarnet, NSLDS, and Peoplesoft. Demonstrating a solid understanding of inter-departmental operations, such as Learner Support, Enrollment Services, Admissions, and the Business Office. Providing a leadership presence throughout the department to effectively manage conflict resolution and problem solving. Lead in the continued development of a teamwork culture which strives to deliver quality results. Qualifications: BA/BS in relevant field preferred; progress toward an advanced degree a plus. Knowledge of federal student aid programs or work in a financial aid office. 1+ years in management strongly preferred; previous supervisory or lead experience (will consider commensurate experience) required. Excellent people management, relationship-building and problem resolution skills.
