Job Description:
Requirements: A doctorate level degree is preferred and a master's degree in counseling or related field (social work, psychology, etc.) is required. A Pennsylvania license in the individual's professional clinical field is preferred. Previous counseling experience is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Responsibilities: Provide individual counseling services to students on a wide range of personal and academic issues such as personal adjustment, interpersonal relations, couple/family relations, depression, victimization in sexual/physical assault, anxiety, educational goals and social/behavioral adjustment. Provide group counseling services to students. Provide structured or support groups in areas such as eating disorders, substance abuse, etc., as related to student need and interest. Provide crisis intervention counseling and rotate 24 hour on-call responsibility with other counseling center staff. Administer and interpret appropriate psychological testing and assessment techniques to foster self-understanding and decision making. Provide outreach programs to address developmental concerns of students on topics such as substance abuse, stress management, men's/women's issues, coping skills and related issues.
