Job Description:
Responsibilities: Provide case management and treatment planning for assigned students. Maintain a working knowledge of community resources available to students and families and make referrals as necessary. Actively participate in the attendance intervention policy to include home visits, if necessary. Conduct student/family interviews for student applicants, make recommendations regarding appropriateness for admission, and document notes in student information system. Actively participate in interdisciplinary, advisory and student support teams to develop specific academic and social emotional interventions to support student achievement. Requirements: A master\'s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or educational psychology. Professional licensure and relevant clinical experience are preferred but not required. In addition, counselor candidates should: Have had experience working with urban teens. Want to engage in collaborative efforts with teaching faculty to help students develop healthy social and emotional outlooks that will help them succeed in class and beyond.
