This position interacts with individuals and organizations representing the above mentioned program areas; interacts with other state and regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over these industries; and provides recommendations for statutory and administrative rule development and revisions as it relates to the facilities/businesses. This position provides training and technical assistance to Department employees and agents involved in the licensing of these facilities/businesses; provides assistance in the administration and enforcement of the inspection and licensing codes; evaluates the performance of DHS staff and agents involved in the licensing and inspection of the aforementioned and determines their adherence to the appropriate application and enforcement of state and federal codes; trains/advises inspection staff regarding facility licensing and inspection program software, FLIP and it's use as a field inspection tool; assists with training related to the licensing and inspection of other facilities/businesses under DHS jurisdiction; and provides guidance to the regulated community and those representing the regulated community
