This manager will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for a cohesive sales force that is expected to sell all Virginian-Pilot Media Company products to maximize their clients’ return on investment and grow their advertising investments with VPMC. The position requires hands-on personnel development and coaching, strategic analysis across multiple products, as well as forming relationships with the largest internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a proven advertising sales management revenue performance track record, significant online expertise, recruitment industry knowledge, and the ability to lead teams and transform a sales culture and a sales approach. The primary function of this role is to facilitate revenue growth by strengthening the sales force and creating recruitment solutions that align with market needs and market conditions. S trong candidates will be results-focused, people-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to assess, train, manage, and motivate a team of professional sales representatives. A consultative, customer-focused sales approach is also essential. Essential Functions: Roles and Responsibilities- Achieve budgeted revenue for each product (print and online) that the Category Manager is responsible for selling. Collaborate with various divisions within the Virginian-Pilot Media Companies to attain the shared category goals and metrics. Develop relationships with decision-makers and influencers of an established account base to gather essential sales intelligence
