RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be responsible for coordination of human genetic translation studies, provide supervision to postdoctoral fellows, develop new analytical procedures, perform assays, develop new assays, evaluate results, sequencing, and implement quality control programs. SUPERVISION: Department Principle Investigator and Director Requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Some bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting , frequent interruptions, walking occasionally to various areas of the JWCI or clinic, typing, writing, ability to think on your feet, adaptation to new situations, learning new procedures, and computer use. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Must have PhD (or equivalent) in molecular biology. SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to work independently, as a team leader, and to contribute as part of a team when necessary. Demonstrated supervisory and communication skills to manage multiple personnel. Ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and professional circumstances. Must be able to analyze, organize and present research data both in manuscript and oral presentation. Must have skills in analytical genomic/epigenomic studies. Must be competent in molecular biology assays, genomic database mining, primer and probe design, and solve molecular assays issues. Must be flexible in studies and be able to move projects rapidly to completion
