Job description: Perform other daily activities andtasks as directed by laboratory manager. Inform labmanager/supervisor of current progress/work loadincluding issues affecting work flow and performance. Maintain records, record, and report test results. Operate standard laboratory equipments and followestablished laboratory procedures.Assist in maintenance and inventory of the equipments,supplies, and chemicals. Arrange with managerapproval that chemical waste is inventoried andproperly disposed. Perform general laboratory maintenance to assureclean, safe, secure, and well organized work areas. Ensure that chemicals, stock rooms, and laboratoriesare maintained and operated. Assure proper recordkeeping and document control of logbooks, notebooks,MSDS, books, etc. Perform sample preparation on a variety of plant andanimal research materials including storing, grinding,weighing, solvent and reagent preparation, extraction,dilution and concentration, etc. in accordance withdocumented procedures. Carry out proximate and otheranalyses that may require supervision. Perform other relevant work related duties asrequired.Skills and Qualifications: Basic knowledge withequipment and materials used in analyticallaboratories. Knowledge in basic science and/orgeneral chemistry. Ability to prepare and keep trackof reagents. Ability to maintain and organizeinventory. Knowledgable with laboratory safetypractices. Ability to maintain records, to record andreport test results, and to operate standardlaboratory equipments
