Requirements: Must be able to work with persons who are in arying states of emotional stress and maintain an adequate degree of personal composure. Skill in identifying significant enironmental, personal, and interpersonal stressors in order to identify primary conflict precipitants leading to diagnostic assessment. Understand the influence of multicultural issues on personal well-being. Knowledge of appropriate ethical, legal, and uniersity standards and regulations. Knowledge of the utilization of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV-TR (DSM-IV-TR) in identifying patient diagnosis of mental disorders. Skill and ability to identify and articulate a treatment plan that will lead to problem resolution, stress reduction, or alleiation of the diagnosed disorder. Basic knowledge of deelopmental tasks and problems typically encountered by college students.
