Job Description: The University of Wisconsin-Madison is accepting applications for a full-time (100%) Web/Design Marketer in the School of Business. This position supports executive education and will be responsible for maximizing the website and web strategies for professional development programs. The ideal candidate will understand traditional marketing communications, web technology principles and the importance of customer focus and business acumen in an environment that deals with corporate clientele.
Job Requirements: Desired technical skill set: Comfortable working with a variety of operating systems such as Windows, Macintosh, and Unix; Experience in developing and maintaining large-scale websites and applications; Commitment to W3C standards and Section 508 compliance; Strong knowledge of CSS and standards-based web design practices; Proficiency in web development software (Visual Studio, Dreamweaver); Experience with Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator; Knowledge of IIS webservers, Flash technologies and media content delivery preferred; Understands complex concepts including relational databases; Understands principles of SEO and SEM.
Desired personal skill set: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; Attention to detail; Ability to quickly learn new skills & technologies; Ability to work collaboratively as a team member; Self-discipline in adhering to schedules and meeting deadlines; Demonstrated, effective communication and listening skills; Ability to multitask between regular task requests, small projects and larger projects; creative thinker with the ability to propose new concepts that work with design standards, customer usability and online branding issues.
