This position is located in the Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineering Division at the Mine Safety and Health Administration (Company) Technical Support Division, Pittsburgh Safety and Health Technology Center, Bruceton, PA. Company's mission is to protect the safety and health of the Nation's miners by determining compliance with federal safety and health standards through inspections and investigations and working cooperatively with the mining industry, labor, and the States to improve training programs aimed at preventing accidents and occupationally caused diseases. Key Requirements: Subject to financial disclosure requirements. Requires a supervisory probationary period if not already completed. Requires a valid drivers license. Subject to frequent travel. Major Duties: The incumbent serves as an expert in the field of mine waste handling and disposal. In addition, he or she must possess expert and authoritative knowledge in at least one of the following areas of responsibility: Dam construction and operation, geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics, structural engineering, surface haulage, and mining under or near bodies of water. It should be noted that work can be assigned in any area of responsibility
