Job Description:
Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and program activities.Provides advice and guidance when technical interpretation, opinion, or decisions are solicited. Consultations involve assessment of engineering design, modification, evaluations, specifications, construction or production, maintenance, improvements, repair, logistics support, operational capabilities and limitations, systems safety, or personnel training.Performs civil engineering project planning duties, such as scheduling and layout of operations, planning for budget requirements, and inspection and surveillance of materials, methods, and equipment used in tests and/or construction. Organizes, schedules, coordinates, and facilitates the timing, sequence, quality, quantity, and issues related to all such projects and work requests.Prepares designs, technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.Develops and maintains an understanding of practices and procedures in the specialty area. Reviews and maintains requirements and specifications for assigned projects. Ensures that agency requirements and standards are adhered to.Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing in performing supervisory or leader work. Ability to communicate in writing in performing supervisory or leader work. Ability to meet and deal with others in performing supervisory or leader work. Ability to analyze organizational and operational programs (including budgets) and develop solutions. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of civil engineering. Knowledge of civil engineering design principles, concepts, and practices for the construction and maintenance of facilities or structures.
