This is a managerial librarian position with responsibility for supervising and managing the acquisitions, cataloging, authority control and processing workflows. The manager insures that print, non-print and electronic resources are available to borrowers in the most timely and cost-effective manner possible. Bibliographic Services centrally orders, catalogs, classifies and processes all library materials, and maintains the integrity of a database of 400,000 catalog records and 1.2 million items shared with the County school system, with a staff of 6.5 FTE. Specific duties include: providing training and supervising professional and paraprofessional staff, managing daily operations of the units and coordinating workflow in a team effort with collection development managers, assuring quality control for library materials and bibliographic records, taking lead responsibility for the acquisitions, cataloging and authority control modules of the Library's automated system, serving on the Division's management team, and coordinating database policies and procedures with the school system. Supervision is received from the Materials & Technology Division Chief. Qualification Requirements: On-line application is required. Minimum: Master's of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited college or university, plus three years of professional experience providing library services with at least one year of experience in cataloging, technical services, and experience in automated library cataloging, authority control and acquisitions processes, AACR2, MARC formats, OCLC and LC subject headings. Substitution: A librarian\'s certificate issued by the Virginia State Board for the Certification of Librarians may substitute for the Master\'s Degree
