Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned Assure appropriate staffing to meet the counseling needs of undergraduate students Supervise and evaluate the counseling staff to assure correct diagnosis and treatment of each client case. Administer Christian counseling services with foundations for change based in Biblical truth. Counsel students experiencing bio-psycho-social difficulties. Serve as a resource person, establish and maintain referral networks and coordinate off-campus counseling referrals. Participate in the training of Residence Life staff and other members of the Cornerstone community. Conduct mental health assessments and where appropriate refer students for additional psychological and psychiatric evaluation and treatment. Consult with faculty, parents, student groups, resident life professionals and other administrators when appropriate and necessary. Be available 24 hours/7 days a week for emergency consultation in crisis situations needing psychological counseling intervention involving Cornerstone students.. Be an advocate for Quality of Care for students who have been hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. Serve as a active member on the Crisis Care Team Serve on other campus committee as assigned Promote department services and psychological health issues through a campus outreach program Establish and monitor counseling services budget keeping within established dollar limits Monitor insurance billings to assure collection integrity Meet with and keep the Dean of Student Activities abreast of counseling activity and needs
