Job Description:
As the Assistant Director, the incumbent will provide: administrative and supervisory leadership of the Counseling Center and its staff during periods of the Director\'s absence; including representation of the Counseling Center at University meetings and functions; assist in the development, maintenance, and evaluation of the training program; assist in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of the Counseling Center counselors, interns, and practica students; assist in development and implementation of the Center\'s annual goals and strategic planning process; provide backup consultation services to the on call counselor; and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be able to work with persons who are in varying states of emotional stress and maintain an adequate degree of personal composure. Skill in identifying significant environmental, personal, and interpersonal stressors in order to identify primary conflict precipitants leading to diagnostic assessment. Understand the influence of multicultural issues on personal well-being.
