Job Description:
Director of School Counseling Advocacy Programs who will lead the development and implementation of major district-wide school counseling outreach programs in a number of the countrys top 100 largest urban school districts.The Director will manage the identification of participating districts and their orientation to programs, and will coordinate plans for outreach efforts according to stated outcomes, metrics and timelines. The Director will manage the development of capacity-building plans for school counselors, will provide coaching and consultation to systems leaders, and will monitor and document program success.This position is resident in our Washington, DC office.RESPONSIBILITIES Promotes advocacy for school counselors through strategic alliances with for-profit and non-profit organizations, district and state education departments, and government agencies at all levels, and local, state and national professional associations. Serves as a key liaison for outreach and advocacy to school counselors in districts with large numbers of underserved college-going student populations. Provides direct consultation services to school districts; manages resources, outside consultants and other contractors. Identifies and coordinates both internal and external resources for system-wide district support and advocacy as needed. Develops and executes customized plans for working with district leadership at the central office and school building level.
