Job Description:
To manage and supervise the Peanut Butter production, processing, and maintenance activities of the department according to good manufacturing practices. To maintain proper standards of quality control, sanitation, employee relations, customer satisfaction and safety to ensure complete continuity of operations while providing an acceptable level of customer service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: To produce and package a high quality product through the use of proper procedures and adherence to good manufacturing practices and government standards in cooperation with Quality Assurance. To maintain and ensure the safety of all employees in the operation of equipment through proper training, enforcement of safety rules, and following proper procedures. To maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with all Carriage House policies as well as regulatory agency standards. Must maintain or exceed all existing third party audit scores. To maintain a sound working relationship with the bargaining unit to ensure no interruption in business and a fair but strict implementation of rules. To understand and enforce all company policies and procedures as well as good manufacturing practices. To improve departmental efficiencies so that downtime is minimized. To monitor rework levels and usage in order to keep rework levels at a minimum. To monitor and control inventory levels and yields through the proper usage and reporting of raw materials. To control labor costs in regards to staffing and overtime through properly adhering to the direct labor standards. To ensure constant communication with all levels of management in the areas of processing, production, maintenance, and sanitation issues. To promote and maintain teamwork among employees through regularly scheduled departmental meetings and daily leadership practices
