Job Description: This position is responsible for implementing an afterschool program for 20 youth, a summer camp program for 40 youth, and for insuring that youth living in the adjacent Transitional Housing site are enrolled in the local public school and that they have access to supportive services and enrichment programs.
AfterSchool/Summer Camp Program for youth ages 5-15 Coordinates development and implementation of the afterschool program. Implements applicable district, agency, and grant policies and regulations. Plan and implement the afterschool program. Develops procedures and policies for operation of the afterschool program. Provides oral and written reports to funding agencies Facilitates partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to the students and families. Establishes and maintains communication with members of the school staff about student needs and aspects of the afterschool program. Analyzes and applies information from periodic program evaluations. Maintains records needed for program administration. Develop and instruct enrichment activities for youth, including short-term and long-term plans for the class. Monitor student progress and needs as appropriate. Insure documented lesson plans for all activities Performs other duties as assigned.
Transitional Housing Youth Advocacy Insure youth living in transitional housing are enrolled in school and that support needs are met. Serves as point of contact for school to address academic supportive service needs. Insure youth living in Transitional Housing are participating in an afterschool enrichment program in their neighborhood or home school.
Job Requirements: Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. • Demonstrated involvement and commitment to the youth community. • 2 years experience (volunteer/paid) working with youth. • Good administrative and supervisory skills. • Demonstrated knowledge of workshop activities and curriculum. • Experience teaching enrichment content to youth.
