EXAM INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.SPB.CA.GOV OR WWW.CDCR.CA.GOV DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Reception Center Correctional Counselor III, the Correctional Counselor II (Supervisor) is responsible for assisting in the workload associated with the processing of Penal Code Section 2933, day-for-day credit earning eligible inmate cases (as provided under the Reception Center Education Model.) This position is assigned the responsibility for liaison activities between the CCIII\'s office, Parole and Community Services Division, Board of Prison Terms (BPT), Case Records, Education and the Inmate Assignment Office, facilitating the flawless processing of inmates and parole violators returned to custody who qualify under the Reception Center Education Model, during reception center processing. DUTIES: 30% Review documents prior to inmate release to ensure all public safety issues are addressed; complete victim\'s notifications; assign and track Conditions of Parole to ensure timely issuance; assist with the coordination and monitoring of high control or risk cases. 25% Complete review and/or approve Release Program Studies and Oral Release Program Studies. 25% Monitor staff\'s adherence to classification policies, procedures and court orders (such as outlined in CCR Title 15, Department Operations Manual, court decisions in Clark, Armstrong, Valdivia, and Coleman); and participation in Classification Committees. 20% Assist with the inmate disciplinary process; respond to inmate appeals; monitor RC process to identify more efficient methods to meet timeframes; and monitor BPT processing of credit earning eligibility of parole violators. All appointments are subject to clearance of the State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) list and are subject to the required Freeze Exemption approvals.
