The Ali Forney Center (AFC) is hiring overnight residential youth counselors for our Emergency Housing Program. AFC provides services to homeless/unstably housed LGBT young people ages 16-24, in small, supportive home-like environments. Primary responsibilities include: maintaining a safe space, providing mediation/conflict resolution as needed, facilitating groups and recreational activities, preparing meals, and documentation. Please note: This is an awake overnight position. We are hiring for full time (3 shifts per week), part time and on call positions. Additional Qualifications: Experience and understanding of LGBT youth culture and issues facing unstably housed young people required. Experience in a residential setting preferred. Ideal job for social work students!
