Internship description: Handling many kinds of issues related to our business, like finance, communicating with mayors and other city leaders, and administrative issues. Some business trips are involved as well.
Company description: This is a hi-tech Sino-Canadian company operating in the field of renewable energy development and utilization, located in the Beijing. By means of extensive experience and technology transfer from developed countries, the company's objective is the innovation, introduction and commercialization of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects and renewable energy utilization. The company is using a base in Beijing, China to demonstrate the technology in an Asian context and to use technical, commercial and fabrication capabilities from China to export fully assembled skids for LFG recovery to neighbouring countries. The company is committed to the rational utilization of resources for the sustainable development of Asia. The company has already contracted through its partners in China for LFG recovery and utilization at 25 Chinese landfills in 2007, and is poised to contract at least another 10 sites before the end of 2008. The company is currently the leading company in the Asian market of pure LFG recovery and utilization. Besides LFG projects, they are also developing the CDM program for biomass steam and power projects. Currently, there are two projects by the company in Malaysia. The projects aim to use empty fruit bunches (EFB), which are a waste product of the palm oil milling process, as the fuel for a modern, highly efficient biomass -fired cogeneration system to supply steam and electricity to palm oil refineries in Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia. This is a Chinese company.
