Job Description:
The person in this position is responsible for the accomplishment of all plant objectives including financial, safety, associate development, quality and customer service. This is accomplished through the leadership, guidance, and coaching given to 2 6 supervisory and managerial employees, as well as 20-60 full-time and temporary hourly associates in the production, warehousing, distribution, and/or field operations. This position has considerable impact upon the plants contribution to the Growing Media divisions overall performance and customer relations. Key Worked Performed Establishes plant short and long-range strategic operating objectives. Plans, directs, manages and oversees plant operations including production, field, warehouse, shipping and receiving, maintenance and office management; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations; monitors and enforces quality control standards; forecasts and schedules production; develops and/or approves all plant operating policies. Directs, manages and develops supervisory personnel to ensure efficient and safe operation of the plant. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures; makes final determinations on hiring and firing decisions; establishes and maintains positive communication with employees; implements proactive measures to maintain a union-free environment
