Job Description:
This position oversees manufacturing operations for a sweet goods baking facility consisting of 110 hourly union employees and a management staff of over 20. Leads the achievement of a zero injury workplace. Responsible for all aspects of production and achieving key performance measurements related to personnel safety, quality and food safety, service, and costs, while continually improving process reliability and performance. Builds a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism. Extends capabilities to meet market needs and support profitable growth of the cake category. Builds an organization that is customer focused, flexible, and has strong business acumen. Ensures compliance to all relevant regulations. Position Requirements Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a technical field. MBA degree would be a plus. Twelve or more years of increasingly responsible manufacturing experience, at least five of which must be in the food industry. Four or more years of direct supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership around personnel safety. Demonstrated track record leading the improvement of operations while delivering day to day performance. Familiarity with the operations of all plant departments: Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials Management, Controllerhsip, etc. Participative management style and excellent communication skills. Demonstrated experience building a strong management team. Strong business acumen and working knowledge process control and improvement tools.
