Job Description: Conducting environmental surveys prior to pipeline construction; duties include but are not limited to:
1. Mapping and Delineating Wetlands. 2. Identifying State and Federally listed Threatened and Endangered Species. 3. Identifying wetland indicator species and dominant vegetative types in upper and lower herbaceous layers. 4. Identification of NEPA and FERC constraints as they apply to linear construction projects.
Job Requirements: 1. A Master’s degree in wildlife, forestry, environmental science, biology, botany or related field is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field would be acceptable with job related experience. 2. Working knowledge of wetland ecology, general ecology, forestry, botany, or wildlife management is a plus. Wetland certification available to those who qualify. 3. Field experience working in harsh environments and/or conditions for extensive period of time preferred but not limiting. 4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate well with colleagues and others on a project. 5. Excellent writing and public speaking skills are a bonus. 6. Ability to problem solve in the field or office with little to no supervision. 7. Ability to think critically and express your professional opinion in clear and concessive manner a plus.
