Job Description:
Avis Budget Group, a global leader in the travel services industry, is searching for a dedicated Area Vehicle Wholesale Manager to work at our Orlando, FL location. This exciting position will oversee and manage the fleet Wholesale function for our Florida Operations and work with all of our Avis and Budget vehicles. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Arranging the purchase of vehicles in lots by wholesale dealers and auctioneers to reduce the size of the fleet to desirable levels, dispose of unwanted vehicles, and increase profitability. In addition, the Wholesale Manager will partner with Fleet Managers to determine the number of vehicles available for sale and coordinate the shuttling of vehicles to designated areas; inspect vehicles to evaluate the extent of damage or wear to determine a fair market value (may partner with Damage Manager to evaluate damage) and maintain a list of all assigned vehicles and their condition. Also, develop working relationships with local wholesale dealers and arrange meetings to provide information on the number and type of vehicles being offered; determine and negotiate vehicle pricing based on auction reports, retail prices, market conditions, and vehicle availability; ensure receipt of payment and contact references to establish credit worthiness and prepare all bills of sale, odometer statements, and other documents required for processing. Act as an advisor to management on all matters relating to conditions in wholesale and retail car sales markets; monitor and interpret all market trends and conditions by communicating with wholesalers, research auction reports, and communicate with ABG Wholesale Managers in other areas. Lastly, hire and manage all wholesale staff and direct training within the department. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree 4 years of Wholesale Vehicle Sales experience 1 year of supervisory experience The successful candidate must be willing to and/or possess the following: Three or more years of supervisory management experience in a service oriented field. Effective supervisory, communication, organizational, and creative problem solving skills. Ability to effectively interact with customers and the public. Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Valid drivers license and clean driving record. Some local travel required.
