Job Description: A Project-Based Service Center Specialist serves as the initial point of contact between participants and ACS regarding, but not limited to; Health and Welfare, Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans, with a very strong emphasis on customer service. Please note: this is a temporary position with a specific start date and a projected end date. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer and respond to all incoming calls from participants of ACS’s clients regarding, but not limited to; Health and Welfare, Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution benefits. Provide accurate, clear, and concise information to participants, and resolve any issues in a timely, courteous and professional manner. Ensure participant resolution by providing timely follow-up, informing the caller of research status, and closing out all cases in the appropriate tracking application, once completed. Utilize database to effectively document all calls from participants related to human resources and/or benefits. Adhere to company and client policies and procedures when interacting with participants and documenting conversations. Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with Data Privacy requirements. Maintain quality and productivity standards in a constantly changing environment while demonstrating the ability to manage fluctuating call volumes. Utilize all available information resources in order to best resolve inquiries. Information sources may include training materials, handbooks, emails and/or Sr. Administrators/Managers. Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the specific processes and conceptual elements of benefits and/or human resource regulations needed to provide precise information to assigned clients, especially in regards to client-specific events, plans and programs. Identify trends in participant inquiries, escalating them to management when necessary. Read all department communications regarding functions and procedures, following instructions that will provide effective workflow processes in the Service Center. Attend all departmental meetings and training classes; as required. Adhere to scheduled shift, and remain flexible to support unanticipated events driving peak call volumes. All other duties; as assigned. 1-3 years human resource generalist experience with an emphasis in benefits administration, a plus. Job Requirements: Thank you for your interest in starting a career at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). In this position, you will be working in our service center, taking incoming calls from employees of various companies that have questions regarding their employment benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc…). To help familiarize candidates with the many different benefit plans and applicable terminology, ACS provides 6 weeks of paid training.To be eligible to interview for this position, all candidates must meet the following criteria, in addition to the requirements listed in the job description: • Must be able to work any 8 hour shift between the hours of 9:30am and 8pm, Monday thru Friday. • Must be able to attend every day of a 6 week training program (8:30am – 5pm). Consequently, eligible candidates can not have any pre-scheduled vacation plans or doctor appointments’, as attendance is mandatory and a vital part of future success. • Must be able to successfully pass mandatory training assessments, which measure the retention of core competencies covered in class, in order to continue employment with ACS. • Must be able to commute to Little Falls, NJ • Must be able to start no later than August 28, 2008
